Springdale, Arkansas – Two Arkansas lottery players are celebrating a successful weekend after winning a combined $170,000 in prizes from recent Powerball and Mega Millions drawings.
According to lottery officials, a Powerball ticket purchased in Portia won $150,000 in the October 17 drawing, while a Mega Millions ticket sold in Springdale secured a $20,000 prize in the October 16 drawing.
Both winning tickets remain unclaimed, meaning the lucky players still need to come forward to collect their money.
Powerball ticket sold in Portia wins $150,000
The larger of the two prizes came from a Powerball ticket purchased at Jordan’s Kwik Stop 50, located at 2917 Highway 63 in Portia.
The winning numbers for the October 17 drawing were 12, 13, 24, 32 and 35, with 11 selected as the Powerball number. The Power Play multiplier was 3.
The Arkansas player correctly matched four of the five white ball numbers along with the Powerball, earning a standard prize of $50,000.
However, the winner had also purchased the optional Power Play feature for an additional $1.
That decision increased the prize threefold, turning the original $50,000 winnings into a $150,000 payout.
The Arkansas ticket holder was one of only three players across the United States to win a prize at that level in the drawing.
Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot has climbed to $607 million for the October 19 drawing.
Powerball tickets cost $2 per play, and sales close at 8:59 p.m. on drawing nights.
Springdale Mega Millions ticket wins $20,000
Another Arkansas lottery player won a significant prize in the October 16 Mega Millions drawing.
The winning ticket, worth $20,000, was purchased at Maverik #5043, located at 1010 North Thompson in Springdale.
The winning numbers were 2, 15, 31, 41 and 68, while the Mega Ball number was 11.
Lottery officials confirmed that the Springdale ticket earned a $20,000 prize, although the announcement did not provide further details about the winning combination matched by the player.
The Mega Millions jackpot is now $413 million for the upcoming October 20 drawing.
Tickets cost $5 per play, and sales end at 9:45 p.m. on drawing nights.
Both Arkansas winners have 180 days from their respective drawing dates to claim their prizes.
The Powerball winner’s deadline is based on the October 17 drawing, while the Mega Millions winner’s claim period began with the October 16 drawing.
Until the tickets are presented and the prizes are claimed, the identities of the two winners remain unknown.
The latest results bring attention to two Arkansas locations where players purchased tickets that turned into substantial lottery prizes over the same weekend.
