Two top winning lottery tickets in Arkansas bring joy and disbelief to local families

Mississippi County man wins $200,000 on scratch-off ticket purchased in Bassett

Russellville, Arkansas – Two Arkansas residents are celebrating after landing big wins from the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery over the weekend, with prizes totaling $200,000 claimed on the same day.

Natalie M. of Pope County walked away with a stunning $150,000 win after the June 14 Powerball drawing. She officially claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on June 16. Natalie purchased her lucky ticket from Tobacco Town Russellville, located at 115 E. Parkway Drive in Russellville. The winning numbers for the drawing were 4, 6, 9, 23, and 59, with the Powerball number being 25. The Power Play multiplier was 3.

The couple, who regularly play Powerball, had a good feeling about the weekend drawing. “Somebody’s going to win,” her husband remarked before the results came in. “Why can’t it be us?”

That hopeful thought turned into reality the next morning when Natalie’s husband checked the ticket while she was getting ready for the day. He realized they had matched four out of five numbers, along with the Powerball number, securing a $50,000 prize. Thanks to their decision to play with the Power Play option, their winnings were tripled to $150,000.

“We’re still trying to process,” Natalie told lottery officials. “All the way up here, we rode in silence.” Their disbelief is understandable, especially considering Natalie’s previous biggest win was just $100 on a scratch-off ticket.

Adding a special twist, the couple kept the exciting news under wraps while spending Father’s Day with their families. Later, they surprised their parents with the announcement of their life-changing win.

Natalie was one of only nine players nationwide to win a six-digit prize in that drawing. Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot continues to grow, sitting at an impressive $118 million for the next drawing.

Another Arkansas Winner Celebrates Instant Win Jackpot

Also claiming a major win on June 16 was S. Ortiz from Washington County, who pocketed $50,000 from the $50,000 Frenzy instant scratch-off game. The ticket was purchased at Casey’s General Store #3237, located at 3704 S. Thompson St. in Springdale.

Ortiz described herself as a casual lottery player and said her win came from a last-minute decision to buy a ticket. “I wanted to have some luck!” she told officials. “I just wanted to scratch it and see what happens.”

That spontaneous choice proved to be a jackpot moment. When she uncovered the top prize, she was in disbelief. “I couldn’t believe it!” Ortiz said, still stunned by her good fortune.

Ortiz plans to use her winnings to help her parents and expressed interest in continuing to try her luck in future games.

Currently, 46 top prizes of $50,000 still remain for the $50,000 Frenzy game.
