UAPB Jazz Ensemble set to perform at Live@5 concert in Pine Bluff this evening

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Live music will take center stage in Pine Bluff as the UAPB Jazz Ensemble prepares to perform during April’s installment of the popular Live@5 concert series, bringing a mix of classic and modern sounds to the community.

The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 3, inside the Catherine M. Bellamy Theater at The Arts and Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, located at 701 South Main Street. The performance is part of the long-running Live@5 series, which regularly features jazz, blues, and rock music at the start of each month.

Jazz ensemble brings wide range of styles to the stage

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Jazz Ensemble, recognized as the university’s premiere jazz group, will headline the evening. Known for its dynamic performances, the group plays a wide range of styles, including swing, contemporary, funk, progressive, and classic standards. In addition to local shows, the ensemble has also toured nationally, building a reputation for energetic and skilled performances.

Organizers say the event is designed for adult audiences, with admission set at 10 dollars for ARTx3 members and 15 dollars for nonmembers. Attendance is limited to those 18 and older, and individuals between the ages of 18 and 20 must present a valid student ID.

Guests who are 21 and older will have access to complimentary beer, wine, and nonalcoholic beverages during the event, though a valid ID is required for alcohol service.

The Live@5 concert series continues to be a key part of the local arts scene, offering consistent opportunities for residents to experience live performances in an intimate setting. The April event is presented by MK Distributors, with additional support provided by Simmons Bank.

For those seeking more details, organizers encourage contacting Lindsey Collins, assistant director, by email or phone, or visiting the event webpage for further information.

With a mix of live music, community engagement, and a relaxed evening atmosphere, the upcoming performance is expected to draw both regular attendees and new visitors alike.
