I-30 expansion project in Saline County causes weekend closure of Frontage Road

Benton, Arkansas – Construction work to expand Interstate 30 (I-30) to six lanes in Saline County will lead to a temporary closure of the I-30 frontage road west of Highway 229. The closure will be in effect from 7 p.m. on Friday, September 6, through 5 a.m. on Monday, September 9, weather permitting.

During this period, crews will close the I-30 frontage road between Highway 229 and Mountain View Elementary School to perform necessary drainage work. As a result, traffic will not be able to access the frontage road from Highway 229 and will need to follow a designated detour route. Drivers will be directed to take the on-ramp to I-30 west, proceed to Exit 111 (Highway 70), and then take the first right to re-enter the frontage road. Part of a Larger Effort to Improve I-30

This construction project, identified as Job CA0601, is a component of the Arkansas Department of Transportation’s (ARDOT) Connecting Arkansas Program. The project aims to widen a 5.5-mile stretch of I-30 to three lanes in each direction, extending from the U.S. Highway 70 interchange (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). It also includes significant improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114).

The entire effort represents a $187.3 million investment to enhance traffic flow and safety along this critical corridor. For more details on the project, visit ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
