Little Rock, Arkansas – It has been a lucky week in Arkansas, with three players from different counties taking home major lottery prizes totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars. From a spur-of-the-moment Powerball purchase to life-changing scratch-off wins, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has delivered excitement and shock to several fortunate individuals.
Cassius K. Wins $100,000 After Listening to His Wife
Cassius K., a resident of Lonoke County, claimed a $100,000 Powerball® prize after purchasing a Quick Pick ticket at the Exxon station on Highway 161 in North Little Rock for the November 10 drawing. He visited the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center to receive his prize on November 12.
Cassius matched four out of the five white balls drawn — 6, 28, 44, 48, and 58 — along with the Powerball number 23, which resulted in a $50,000 prize. However, because he had opted for the Power Play® multiplier, which was 2, his winnings doubled to $100,000.
Surprisingly, Cassius had not initially planned to buy a ticket. “I wanted to keep her happy and grab a ticket,” he told lottery officials, referring to his wife’s encouragement to try his luck. When he checked the numbers the next morning, he was stunned to learn he had won.
This was Cassius’s first time winning a lottery prize, and though he hasn’t yet decided how to spend the money, he said he plans to keep playing. “At least, I know to go when my wife tells me to go,” he laughed.
Pulaski County Man Snags $250,000 with 100X the Cash
Robert A., another lucky player from Pulaski County, claimed a $250,000 top prize playing the 100X the Cash scratch-off game, a $10 instant ticket he purchased at JMT One Stop on MacArthur Drive in North Little Rock.
Robert said he had just dropped off his daughter and stopped for gas when he decided to pick up a few tickets. A daily player, he typically chooses 200X the Cash or picks based on what feels lucky that day. That day, it was 100X the Cash — and it paid off in a big way.
“I had to pull over a few times to catch my breath,” Robert told officials. The win, which he claimed on November 12, is his largest prize to date, surpassing previous wins of $20,000 and $5,000. He plans to renovate his home with the money and says he’ll continue playing.
There is one $250,000 top prize still remaining on 100X the Cash.
Jerricc J. Wins $100,000 with Help from His Grandmother
In Little Rock, Jerricc J. became another big winner after scoring a $100,000 top prize on the 50X the Cash scratch-off game. The $5 winning ticket was purchased at Big Hill Enterprises LLC on East 9th Street and claimed on November 10.
The ticket was bought by his grandmother, a regular lottery player who picked out the ticket for Jerricc based on her preference for games with multipliers and large top prizes. When Jerricc scratched the ticket at home and saw the prize, he could barely believe it.
“Is this for real?” he and his grandmother asked one another before rushing back to the store to confirm the prize. Still absorbing the win, Jerricc has not yet decided what he will do with the money. “You have to think about it,” his grandmother said.
There is still one $100,000 top prize available on 50X the Cash.
