Man accused of killing 40 year old woman found dead with gunshot wounds inside Pine Bluff home captured days later in Little Rock

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Authorities say a homicide suspect wanted in connection with the killing of a 40-year-old woman has now been captured after several days on the run. Investigators with the Pine Bluff Police Department confirmed that Samuel Wimbly was taken into custody and will soon face serious charges tied to the violent incident.

Police announced that Wimbly will be booked into the Jefferson County Jail upon his return to Pine Bluff. He is expected to face charges of capital murder along with possession of a firearm by certain persons. These charges stem from a shooting that left Kinyatta Ringo-Wimbly dead inside her home earlier this month.

Officials shared that the arrest was made possible through cooperation between multiple law enforcement agencies. According to authorities, “On March 5, 2026, Samuel Wimbly was located in Little Rock by members of the United States Marshals Service. Wimbly was taken into custody without incident and will be transported back to Pine Bluff this evening.”

The capture ended a brief but intense search for the suspect after the fatal shooting shocked the local community.

Disturbing Discovery Inside Pine Bluff Home

The investigation began several days earlier after a mysterious emergency call brought officers to a quiet neighborhood in Pine Bluff. According to police, the chain of events started shortly after noon on March 1.

Authorities said officers with the Pine Bluff Police Department were sent to a home located at 6515 Cimarron after dispatchers received a concerning call. The call was described by officials as a “911 hang-up call,” which often prompts immediate police response because it may signal someone in danger.

When officers arrived at the residence, the situation quickly became alarming.

Family members who had been trying to reach the woman inside had grown worried after repeated attempts to contact her failed. Unable to reach her and fearing something was wrong, relatives decided to force their way inside the house.

What they found inside was devastating.

According to investigators, the family discovered 40-year-old Kinyatta Ringo-Wimbly inside the residence. She was unresponsive and had suffered what police described as apparent gunshot wounds.

Emergency responders quickly assessed the situation, but there was nothing they could do. Authorities confirmed that Ringo-Wimbly was pronounced dead at the scene. Police also noted that no other individuals were located inside the residence when officers searched the home.

Following the discovery, investigators secured the area and began gathering evidence as part of a homicide investigation.

Officials later transported the victim to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory, where medical examiners will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death.

Investigation Continues After Arrest

While the suspect is now in custody, investigators say the case remains active as detectives continue to piece together the full timeline leading up to the deadly shooting.

The Pine Bluff Police Department thanked federal authorities and other agencies for helping track down the suspect. Their collaboration ultimately led to Wimbly being located in Little Rock, bringing an end to the search.

Even with the arrest, authorities are still asking the public for help as the investigation moves forward.

Police are urging anyone who may have information about the case to come forward. Individuals can contact the PBPD Detective Office Tip Line at 870-730-2106, the Detective Office at 870-730-2090, or the Dispatch Center at 870-541-5300. Officials noted that information can also be provided anonymously.

As the suspect is transported back to Pine Bluff and formally booked into the Jefferson County Jail, the case is expected to move into the next stage of the legal process. Investigators say they remain focused on uncovering every detail surrounding the fatal shooting that claimed the life of Kinyatta Ringo-Wimbly.
