ARTx3 Campus to host free screenings of The Lorax for families and children on March 7

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Families and movie lovers in Pine Bluff will soon have the chance to enjoy a well-known animated story on the big screen as the ARTx3 Campus prepares to host special screenings of “The Lorax.” The event will take place on Saturday, March 7, and will give community members the opportunity to watch the popular animated film inside a unique theater setting in downtown Pine Bluff.

The screenings will be held in the Adam B. Robinson Jr. Black Box Theater at ART WORKS on Main, located at 627 S. Main St. Organizers have scheduled two showings of the movie so attendees can choose the time that works best for them. The first screening will begin at 11 a.m., while a second showing will follow at 2 p.m.

The event is expected to bring families, children, and fans of the Dr. Seuss story together for a fun and meaningful movie experience.

A Story About Protecting the World Around Us

The film being presented is the 2012 screen adaptation of the beloved Dr. Seuss classic book. The animated story follows a 12-year-old boy who is determined to find a way to win the affection of the girl he admires. His search leads him to uncover the truth about the Lorax, a unique and memorable creature known for speaking up for the environment.

As the story unfolds, the boy learns about the Lorax, described as a grumpy yet charming character who fights to protect his world. Through colorful scenes and humorous moments, the movie explores themes about caring for nature and understanding the consequences of harming the environment.

The film has a runtime of 86 minutes, making it an accessible and engaging experience for both children and adults.

The screening event is supported through funding provided by the Simmons First Foundation. Organizers say this support helps ensure that the program can be offered to the community at no cost.

Admission to the event will be free, though those planning to attend must register in advance. Participants can secure their spot by visiting artx3.org/all-events/the-lorax-movie or by calling 870-536-3375.

Anyone who would like more details about the event can contact Bethany Gere, theater and programs coordinator, by email at [email protected] or by phone at 870-536-3375. Organizers hope the screenings will provide a fun community activity while sharing a classic story with an important message.
