Pine Bluff, Arkansas – A late-night burst of gunfire in Pine Bluff has led to multiple arrests and the recovery of automatic-style weapons, as authorities say a group tied to gang activity is now facing serious charges.
According to the Pine Bluff Police Department, officers responded to a disturbance call around 12:33 a.m. on March 29, 2026, after reports of multiple gunshots in the area of Blake Street. As officers arrived, they spotted a silver and white Dodge Charger speeding away from the scene. Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled, leading officers on a pursuit through nearby streets.
The vehicle continued westbound onto West 28th Avenue, then toward Taft Street, where it eventually crashed and caught fire. All individuals inside the Charger fled on foot before officers could take them into custody.
Investigation leads to arrests and weapons seizure
Shortly after the crash, officers located a green Dodge Challenger connected to the incident at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Several individuals there were receiving treatment for injuries that were described as non-life-threatening. According to investigators, victims told officers they had been shot at by occupants of the Dodge Charger near 101 North Blake Street.
The investigation continued over the following days, leading officers to a residence in the 500 block of Talbot Street. On April 1, 2026, members of the department’s Violent Crimes Apprehension Team conducted surveillance at that location. During the operation, a suspect identified as Bralen Whaley was seen handling a large rifle.
Officers attempted another traffic stop, but the situation quickly escalated into a pursuit. The driver, later identified as Keontae Davis, fled back to the residence, where multiple individuals were detained.
Authorities executed a search warrant at the home, uncovering several dangerous weapons. Among the items recovered were a Glock handgun equipped with a switch, making it fully automatic, as well as two AR-style pistols that had also been modified with switches to function as automatic firearms.
Police arrested four individuals who were identified as members of the HOG, also known as the Hop Out Gang. Bralen Whaley faces charges including Battery in the first degree, committing a terroristic act, engaging in criminal group activity, and gang involvement. Ta’couri McKenzie is charged with Battery in the first degree, committing a terroristic act, gang activity, possession of a prohibited weapon, and violation of the Machine Gun Act. Xzaveion Reed faces charges related to gang activity and violation of the Machine Gun Act, while Keontae Davis is charged with gang activity, felony fleeing, and violation of the Machine Gun Act.
Authorities say the case remains active and ongoing as investigators continue to gather information and determine whether additional suspects may be involved.
