Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Students will have an opportunity to explore how different liquids behave when combined during a hands-on science activity offered through the Next Gen STEAM Exhibition Series at ARTx3.
The activity, called Make a Liquid Float, introduces young learners to density and the different properties of liquids. Through simple experiments, participants will discover why some liquids remain in separate layers rather than mixing together.
Students will combine different liquids, make predictions about what might happen and carefully observe the results. The activity will help them understand how liquids with different densities can float above or sink below one another.
Visitors can participate during regular hours
Each Next Gen STEAM Exhibition Series runs for four weeks, allowing visitors several opportunities to explore the featured science activity.
Participants can stop by the Creative Construction Zone during regular visitor hours, which are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The program is also available for classrooms and workshops, giving educators an opportunity to bring the learning experience directly to their students.
Teachers and other interested groups can arrange a presentation by contacting Stephanie Johnson-Carlton at [email protected] or calling 870-536-3375.
