The showcase is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, from 1-3 p.m. at The Arts & Science Center, located at 701 S. Main St in Pine Bluff. This engaging event is open to the public free of charge.
Event Highlights and Competitions
The D.U.C. features two main competitions: the Upcycled Mini-Sculpture for high school students in grades 9-12 and the Upcycled Fashion Show for students enrolled in higher education institutions. The competitions draw participants from a wide region, including students from Arkansas, Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Cleveland, Desha, Drew, Grant, Jefferson, Lee, Lincoln, Monroe, Phillips, and Prairie counties.
The fashion show, set to begin at 2 p.m., promises to be a showcase of innovative designs that transform recycled materials into artistic fashion statements. Following the fashion show, trophies and monetary prizes will be awarded to the most creative and impactful entries at 2:45 p.m.
