Child molester, who followed a 13-year-old girl as she was on her way to visit a friend and stabbed her to death with a 12-inch knife, was indicted

Florida – In a deeply disturbing incident in Florida, a 28-year-old man, identified as J. Dorisme, has been indicted in connection with the death of a 13-year-old girl, identified as R. Dieujuste, whose body was found dead in a storage room of an apartment building.

Dorisme, already a convicted child abuser, has been indicted on multiple charges, including first-degree murder, kidnapping, se-ual battery, and attempted se-ual battery. Under Florida law, the nature of these crimes—murder in conjunction with kidnapping and se-ual battery—constitutes a capital felony, potentially leading to a life sentence without parole or even the death penalty.

The heinous crime occurred on Independence Day at the apartment complex where the victim resided. According to authorities, this area was known to the suspect as he lived nearby previously. According to Sheriff J. Mina, Dieujuste was on her way to visit a friend within the same complex when she was attacked by Dorisme. The young girl’s belongings were found scattered in a staircase, leading to a frantic search by her family. Unfortunately, the search ended when one of Dieujuste’s relatives discovered her in a storage room, suffering from severe stab wounds and barely clinging to life.

Despite immediate efforts to save her, including CPR and rapid transport to a hospital, Dieujuste succumbed to her injuries. The loss of such a young life in such a violent manner has left the community and law enforcement devastated. Sheriff Mina expressed the collective heartache, emphasizing the difficulty of dealing with such a case as both a law enforcement officer and a parent.

The investigation quickly gained momentum as detectives scoured the crime scene for evidence. They discovered the packaging of a 12-inch knife in the closet where Dieujuste was found, which they believe to be the murder weapon. Surveillance footage from the apartment complex and a nearby store played a crucial role in piecing together the events leading up to the murder. The footage captured Dorisme purchasing a knife shortly before the crime and tracking Dieujuste’s movements within the complex.

In a pivotal turn in the investigation, the suspect’s father called the authorities and identified his son as the suspect after the sheriff’s office released footage of the person of interest to the public. This led to the swift arrest of Dorisme on Thursday night. Dorisme, who has been in the U.S. undocumented since 2008, did not resist arrest. His history includes a previous no-contest plea to a child abuse charge in 2021, where other serious charges were dropped, and a recent altercation with law enforcement in June, which resulted in a mental health evaluation under the state’s Baker Act. Residents had expressed concerns about Dorisme’s presence in the area even before the fatal event, since he was frequently observed watching young girls

The community’s response has been one of profound sorrow and anger. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Dieujuste’s family during this unimaginably difficult time.

As the case progresses, the defense argues that Dorisme is not competent to stand trial, likely setting the stage for a complex legal battle focused on his mental state and the factual basis of the charges against him. With the severity of the accusations and the potential for a capital punishment sentence, the legal proceedings are being closely monitored. Dorisme remains in custody without bond, awaiting further action from the courts.
