Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Young artists in the making will have a unique opportunity to explore their creativity this summer through the upcoming Art Jr. Camp, designed for children ages 7 to 11. The camp merges fundamental lessons in drawing, painting, crafting, and sculpting with an engaging look into the current exhibitions at the ASC and ARTSpace on Main galleries.
Led by instructor Elly Bates, the program goes beyond individual art creation. Campers will work on both two-dimensional and three-dimensional projects while also collaborating with fellow students on group-based artistic activities. As they navigate different media and techniques, students will also draw inspiration from the art displayed in the hosting galleries, building a strong connection between their own work and professional exhibits.
The cost to attend is $110 for ARTx3 members and $140 for nonmembers. However, financial limitations are not a barrier — full scholarships are available to all who apply, regardless of income level. Organizers encourage families to take advantage of this open opportunity. Registration can be completed at artx3.org/all-events/art-jr-camp.
Before attending, a parent or guardian must read the summer camp manual and complete all registration forms by the first day. According to the organizers, “Students will create 2D and 3D projects, and focus not only on creating independently and working with different media, but also on creating projects with fellow campers.”
Whether a child is picking up a paintbrush for the first time or already showing an early passion for the arts, Art Jr. Camp offers a fun and educational space for growth, discovery, and collaboration.
