Father of a 14-year-old girl shot a child molester, who previously stalked and indecently attacked his daughter, to death; charged

Arkansas – In a shocking case in Arkansas that has captured the attention of Arkansas and Indiana residents, a 36-year-old father, identified as A. Spencer, faces first-degree murder charges following a tragic incident. The charges stem from Spencer’s actions last week when he fatally shot a 67-year-old former police chief in Indiana, identified as M. Fosler, a man with a known history of se-ual offences against minors, including alleged assaults on Spencer’s 14-year-old daughter.

In a tragic series of events, a father’s desperate attempt to protect his missing daughter has resulted in a preliminary first-degree murder charge. Spencer found his 14-year-old daughter in the car with Fosler. In a heated confrontation, Spencer shot and killed Fosler, leading to his arrest. The incident occurred in the early morning hours last Tuesday. Spencer’s wife and the mother of the teenage girl, later shared emotional updates, saying their family thought Fosler was planning to harm or even kill their daughter. “This guy that preyed upon their daughter was released on bond, and we had stopped him that night and got him with her.” While the investigation is still ongoing, Spencer was initially taken into custody at the detention center. Jail records show that he was released on a $150,000 bond by Wednesday afternoon, thanks to community support. The sheriff’s office has emphasized that the murder charge is preliminary and the prosecutor will decide if it becomes official.

The heartbreaking saga began when the Spencers discovered their daughter missing from their home and immediately called 911. Spencer rushed out to search for her only to discover her in a vehicle with Fosler. The sheriff’s office confirmed that a physical altercation took place between the two men, culminating in Spencer shooting Fosler, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Spencer’s wife described the situation as her worst nightmare. “We absolutely called 911 during the entire event,” she wrote on Facebook. “We had no idea this man was in contact with our child again. He was waiting 6-9 felonies for what he did, not 2. He was looking at the rest of his pathetic life in jail, and our daughter was the only witness.” Spencer’s arrest has sparked outrage and support on social media, with many users calling him a hero.

Spencer’s wife revealed that Fosler was not a stranger to the justice system. The 67-year-old had been arrested in July for se-ual assault and internet stalking of the couple’s daughter. However, he was released on a $50,000 bond and had been awaiting trial. The family had a no-contact order in place against him, but they were unaware that Fosler had reestablished contact with their daughter. Spencer’s wife also revealed chilling details about Fosler’s background. “We have gotten a clear picture of a predator who continuously worked with children and preyed on young girls,” she wrote. “This man was Chief of Police in Indiana and resource officer, giving us a better idea of why the courts have been protecting him and going after my husband.”

Sheriff J. Staley has confirmed that investigators are still gathering evidence to determine whether the shooting was justified or not. “When we get on scene and there’s a homicide, it means one person took the life of another,” Staley explained. “It’s either justified or not justified. That’s what the fact-finding, that’s what the investigation is going to find out.” Staley also emphasized that he does not support predators, saying, “I’m a daddy. I have three daughters. I know she’s hurt right now, but there’s absolutely nobody I would put ahead of our children, their children, my children.” However, Staley made it clear that the final decision on charges lies with the prosecuting attorney, not the sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s office has faced criticism over how the situation has been handled. The arrest of Spencer has sparked a wave of backlash, with many accusing law enforcement of failing to protect the victim and her family while prioritizing the privacy of a known predator.

In the wake of Spencer’s arrest, the family sought financial support to cover legal fees. Spencer’s wife initially launched a fundraiser on GoFundMe, but the platform shut down the campaign, citing their policy against raising funds for individuals facing criminal charges. Determined to continue their legal fight, Spencer’s wife turned to other platforms like Venmo and Cash App to collect donations. “Donations are wonderful and needed,” she wrote, “but despite the legal fight, this has been the most traumatic event of our family’s life, all of us, so please just keep us in your prayers and add us to your prayer chains.”

Spencer’s wife also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support they have received from the community and other alleged victims of Fosler who have come forward with their own stories. “We are overwhelmed by the amount of love we’re receiving on social media,” she shared. As the investigation continues, the family remains focused on defending Spencer and rebuilding their lives. Sheriff Staley assured the public that the investigation would be completed swiftly. “We’re going to get this wrapped up as expeditiously as we can, and get the file faxed and over to the prosecutor so he can make an informed decision,” he said.

Spencer’s wife final message to supporters encapsulated the emotional toll this ordeal has taken on the family. “This has been the most traumatic event of our lives,” she wrote. “We just want to keep our family safe, and we’re thankful to everyone standing with us.” The Spencer family, now in the midst of both a legal and emotional battle, hopes that justice will ultimately prevail. With community support behind them, they continue to fight for Spencer’s exoneration, believing that his actions saved their daughter from further harm.
