METRO Connect zones face vehicle shortage

METRO Connect zones face vehicle shortage

Little Rock, Arkansas – Residents and commuters relying on METRO Connect in East Little Rock-Riverdale and John Barrow Road Zones should brace for potential disruptions on Monday, Oct. 30. A significant shortage of vehicles in service within these zones has been reported.

The impact of this shortage is straightforward: if demand exceeds available vehicles, some riders won’t be able to secure a ride. The Via-powered METRO Connect ride-booking system is designed to prioritize timeliness. If the system cannot find a ride within 45 minutes from the time of a user’s request, it won’t book the ride. Instead, users will receive a prompt, suggesting they try to schedule another ride in about 15 minutes.

Those planning to use METRO Connect in these zones should account for possible delays and be prepared to seek alternative transportation if necessary.
