Mother had her baby in her arms and her 4-year-old child in the backseat when the children’s father approached the vehicle and shot her several times in the face; man charged

Florida – In a remarkable turn of events fueled by the power of social media, a 41-year-old Florida man, identified as B. Willimas, who had been evading law enforcement for over three years, was finally arrested in Mexico. Williams faced immediate extradition and charges for the brutal murder of his estranged 27-year-old girlfriend, identified as J. Peca, and two counts of felony child abuse.

The incident that led to Williams’ charges occurred on July 31, 2021, near local cemetery in Florida. According to police reports, Williams fatally shot Peca in the face multiple times while she was seated in her vehicle, cradling their infant child in her arms. Their other child, a 4-year-old, was also in the vehicle and witnessed the horrifying act from the backseat. The police department disclosed that Williams lured Peca to the cemetery under the guise of her bringing the children to see him. This calculated act of violence not only ended Peca’s life but also left their children in a state of terror.

Williams’ capture came after an unexpected tip from a viewer of a TikTok video, which detailed his crimes and his status as a fugitive. The tipster reported spotting Williams living in Mexico, which set off a series of coordinated efforts between local authorities and the U.S. Marshals Service to secure his arrest. Once detained, a detective and a deputy from Florida made the trip to personally escort Williams back to the United States, ensuring his transfer to the county’s jail during the holiday weekend.

Upon his return, Williams was held without bond, facing a grim future after being charged with first-degree murder and child abuse. The reaction from the community and the victim’s family was one of mixed relief and profound sorrow. Peca’s mother, expressed her gratitude towards the law enforcement agencies involved in the arrest. She poignantly noted, “Starting today, Williams’ freedom is over… He’s not going to see the daylight again. He’s behind bars where he belongs.”

Police Chief A. Holloway and other officials were deeply affected by the case. Holloway recounted the cold-blooded nature of the crime, emphasizing the shock of Williams committing such a violent act against the mother of his children while one child was in her arms. “Williams goes up to his girlfriend, who is holding his baby in her arms, and he shoots her several times. I don’t know what it would take a person to do that.”The chief praised the diligent work of his detectives and the collaborative efforts with federal agencies, underscoring the importance of community tips in apprehending fugitives.

As Williams awaits his day in court, the broader implications of his actions continue to resonate within the community and beyond. The use of social media as a tool in law enforcement highlights its growing impact on modern policing, illustrating how digital platforms can serve as crucial resources in solving crimes.

The family of Peca, while relieved by the arrest, is left to mourn a life tragically cut short and care for two young children who have been irrevocably affected by this ordeal. The community and law enforcement hope that this arrest brings some measure of peace and closure to all affected while reinforcing the relentless pursuit of justice, no matter how long it takes.
