Mother played an unusual “game” with her children that left her 8-year-old daughter with fractured skull and without five teeth after she ran the girl over with her vehicle; charged

Indiana – In a shocking incident in Indiana, a 27-year-old mother, identified as J. White, has been arrested and charged after an unusual game she played with her children resulted in her 8-year-old daughter suffering severe injuries. White faces charges of neglect of a dependent resulting in serious injury and neglect of a dependent placing the dependent in a dangerous situation, according to court records.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on August 29 where White engaged in a risky activity with her children that she referred to as a game. According to reports, this game involved the mother racing her kids to the car, locking the doors, and pretending to depart, leaving the children outside. This time, the unusual “game” took a tragic turn when one of White’s daughters, the 8-year-old girl whose identity hasn’t been revealed, became trapped by the rear tire of the moving car, resulting in serious injuries.

On the day of the incident, witnesses reported seeing White’s children running alongside her vehicle as she drove through the apartment complex. According to one of the girl’s siblings, a 6-year-old, their mother was driving faster than usual during the game. The 8-year-old girl was holding onto the front passenger door handle when her foot got caught under the rear tire. She was pulled to the ground and run over, causing her to hit her head severely.

Emergency services were immediately called to the scene. First responders found the girl seriously injured. She suffered fractured skull and orbital fractures, along with various abrasions. A large cut on her face was so deep that it exposed a portion of her skull. The injury was severe enough that she lost five teeth. After the accident, the child was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where she required several days of intensive care, including intubation and IV sedation. Fortunately, after significant medical intervention, she was stabilized and eventually released from the hospital, though the long-term implications of her injuries remain a concern.

Investigators reviewed video footage of the incident, which showed the vehicle increasing speed while the 8-year-old was still hanging onto the door handle. It is estimated that White was driving approximately 15 to 20 miles per hour when her daughter fell. This evidence contradicted any claims that the vehicle was moving slowly or that the incident was a mere accident.

When questioned by authorities, the 6-year-old sibling explained that this was a game their mother routinely played with them. However, they noted that on this occasion, White was driving faster than normal, which contributed to the accident. The sibling stated that their sister was holding onto the door handle when she was run over and fell, hitting her head.

White was arrested following the incident and is currently facing serious charges related to child neglect. She is scheduled to appear in court on Monday afternoon, according to jail records. The case highlights significant concerns about child safety and parental responsibility, especially when engaging in activities that could potentially harm children. Authorities are emphasizing that such incidents are preventable and are urging parents to exercise caution to protect their children from harm.
