Pine Bluff Police Department hosting annual Fishing Derby for youth and seniors

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The Pine Bluff Police Department is inviting the community to grab their fishing poles and enjoy a morning of outdoor fun at the annual PBPD Fishing Derby. The event, free to attend, is open to children 15 and under as well as senior citizens, creating a family-friendly environment for multiple generations to connect.

A Morning of Fishing, Food, and Fellowship

The derby will take place from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Martin Luther King Park. Organizers promise an engaging lineup of activities, including the signature “Catch, Clean and cook fish” experience, allowing participants to enjoy their fresh catch right on site. Guests can also indulge in chicken, snow cones, popcorn, and chips. Additional fun will include a pie-eating contest and senior-friendly games such as senior bags.

Beyond fishing and food, the event will also feature school supply giveaways, making it a timely resource for families preparing for the new academic year.

The Pine Bluff Police Department and Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church are co-sponsoring the event, which emphasizes fun, fellowship, and community connection. “Come out & let the Officers of the Pine Bluff Police Department show you a Fishing Good Time!” the invitation reads, highlighting the opportunity for residents to spend quality time with local officers in a relaxed setting.
