Police investigating early Saturday morning shooting in Pine Bluff that left man wounded

Pine Bluff police renew call for public help in unsolved 2022 South Linden Street homicide

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Pine Bluff police responded to a shooting over the weekend that left one man seriously injured and sparked an active investigation. The call came in around 6 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, regarding a man who had been shot multiple times near the 1300 block of W. 23rd Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim being loaded into an ambulance. He was transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center, where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries. The man’s condition has not been publicly disclosed.

Witness Recounts Frightening Morning

A woman who placed the 911 call gave officers a chilling account of what she witnessed. She told authorities that she heard a man yelling outside her home and, upon looking out, saw him sitting beneath a tree directly across the street. The man reportedly yelled at her to “call an ambulance,” prompting her to alert emergency services immediately.

As officers continued their investigation, they discovered that the woman’s home had also been struck by gunfire. Fortunately, she was not harmed in the shooting. Multiple spent shell casings were located at the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Mulberry Street, and investigators also found a pair of shoes nearby—suggesting that a chaotic scene unfolded before help arrived.

Police Seek Public’s Help

At this time, police have not identified a suspect, and no arrests have been made. The Pine Bluff Police Department is urging anyone with information to step forward. Witnesses or those with potential leads are encouraged to call (870) 541-5300 or reach the Detective’s Office at (870) 730-2090.
