Temporary closure of Highway 216 in Perry County for drainage replacement

Perryville, Arkansas – Starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, October 21, Highway 216 in Perry County will be closed to through traffic between Highway 9 and Highway 300. This closure will allow crews to remove and replace a drainage structure near Allen Point Road. The project is scheduled to be completed by 5 p.m. on Friday, October 25.

Local Traffic and Detour Information

Although Highway 216 will be closed to through traffic, it will remain accessible to local traffic only. For other drivers needing to navigate around the area, a signed detour will be in place, directing traffic to use Highway 300 and Highway 9.

Message boards and road signage will help guide drivers and ensure a smooth flow of traffic through the alternate routes. Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution in the area and be mindful of traffic control measures in place.

Accessing Additional Travel Information

To stay updated on travel conditions and potential changes to the closure schedule, drivers can visit the IDriveArkansas.com website or refer to ARDOT.gov.

This temporary closure is essential to improve infrastructure, and ARDOT appreciates the public’s cooperation and patience during this time. The updated drainage structure will help enhance road safety and reliability for Perry County residents and travelers once the work is completed.
