Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The Pine Bluff Police Department Detective Division has made notable progress in the investigation of a shooting that occurred on Tuesday, October 21, at an apartment located at 1202 S. Cherry Street. Following a fast-moving investigation, Alonzo Harris and Tyler Thorns have been taken into custody. A third suspect remains at large, and authorities are continuing their efforts to locate him.
According to police, two adults and an infant were inside the apartment when the shooting took place. Despite the intense gunfire, no injuries were reported, which officials are calling nothing short of miraculous.
Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a gray passenger vehicle that was missing rear bumper panels on both sides and had one black passenger door circling the block multiple times before the shooting. The vehicle was reportedly occupied by four males.
Based on witness accounts and findings from the preliminary investigation, the suspects parked behind a nearby business. One male stayed in the car, while the other three approached the apartment on foot, each armed with rifles. The trio then fired multiple rounds at the residence before fleeing the scene.
Thanks to quick detective work, authorities executed a search warrant at a residence where both Harris and Thorns were located. During the search, three firearms believed to have been used in the shooting were recovered.
Harris and Thorns are now facing a serious list of charges, including:
-
22 counts of a Terroristic Act
-
1 count of Aggravated Assault
-
1 count of Engaging in Violent Criminal Activity
The department issued praise for their investigative team, saying, “A huge pat on the back to our Detective Office for their hard work, dedication and teamwork in bringing these suspects into custody swiftly and safely.”
The case remains active as detectives work to identify and locate the third suspect involved in the shooting.
