North Little Rock families invited to join a weekend of Easter egg hunts and spring fun

North Little Rock, Arkansas – The City of North Little Rock is welcoming spring with a joyful citywide celebration, offering several Easter egg hunts across different neighborhoods on April 19 and 20. With thousands of colorful eggs, photos with the Easter Bunny, and plenty of prizes, the events promise fun for children of all ages — and even for seniors.

Burns Park Eggstravaganza Kicks Off Early

The biggest of the events, the Burns Park Easter Eggstravaganza, will begin Saturday, April 19, at 9 a.m. at the Burns Park Soccer Complex, located at 1 Soccer Avenue. The first egg hunt begins at 9:30 a.m. Families are encouraged to arrive early for photos with the Easter Bunny, which will be available from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will include face painting, games, and special door prizes. Egg hunt groups will be separated by age: 1–3 years, 4–6 years, 7–9 years, 10–12 years, and a separate hunt for children with special needs. Golden eggs hidden in each hunt will come with special surprises. For details, contact 501-580-1407 or visit nlrpr.org.

Rose City Community Center Event Offers Prizes and Games

Also on April 19, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Rose City Community Center at 400 Rose Lane will host its Easter event filled with free music, games, and prizes. The egg hunts are staggered by age to keep things organized: children 6 and under will hunt at 10:30 a.m., kids 7 to 10 years at 11 a.m., and children ages 11 to 13 at 11:45 a.m. For more information, call 501-945-8036.

Community Celebrations Across the City

That same morning at 10 a.m., the North Heights Community Center, in collaboration with Levy United Methodist Church, will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 701 W. 47th Street. The event will feature egg hunts, face painting, and prizes, and is free to the public. Call 501-791-8576 for more details.

Families near Glenview can head to the Glenview Community Center at 4800 E. 19th Street on April 19 as well. The festivities run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature hunts for kids ages 0–4 at 11 a.m., 5–10 years at 11:30 a.m., and a special hunt for seniors ages 55 and older at noon. Along with prize eggs, the event includes face painting and family fun. Contact 501-945-2921 for information.

Final Celebration at Sherman Park on April 20

The citywide celebration wraps up on Sunday, April 20, at Sherman Park, 624 Beech Street, starting at 3 p.m. This event, hosted by Protho Lodge #281, Gleaner Star #338, and Melrose Community Outreach Center, offers a wide range of giveaways including two bicycles, two tricycles, cash prizes, candy, and even a raffle for a 65” smart TV. Children 12 and under are invited to participate in the hunt, and attendees can enjoy free food, a snow cone booth, DJ music, and door prizes. For more, contact 501-340-5373.

With activities for all ages and free entry to every event, North Little Rock Parks and Recreation is offering families a perfect way to celebrate Easter weekend together.
