Jacksonville, Arkansas – As part of ongoing efforts to expand Highway 67/167 (future Interstate 57) to six lanes, major traffic changes are scheduled overnight in Jacksonville, Arkansas, beginning Tuesday, April 1.
Weather permitting, construction crews will shift southbound traffic from the existing main lanes onto newly constructed pavement, including the new Vandenberg Bridge, between Vandenberg Boulevard (Exit 11A) and the N. James Street bridge. This lane shift will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, and is expected to be completed by 5 a.m. Wednesday, April 2.
In addition to the southbound lane shift, motorists should be aware of a long-term ramp closure starting the following evening. The Highway 67 northbound on-ramp at the N. James Street bridge (located on TP White Drive) will close at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, and remain closed until spring 2026. Drivers needing access to northbound Highway 67 will be directed to continue on TP White Drive to the on-ramp located north of Vandenberg Boulevard.
Traffic through the area will be managed with traffic drums, barrier walls, and clear signage. Drivers are urged to exercise caution, expect slower speeds, and stay alert when moving through the work zone.
Residents near the interstate may experience increased noise levels during the nighttime hours, especially while crews conduct the pavement shift and associated work.
These updates mark another step forward in a major infrastructure improvement effort to enhance safety, capacity, and efficiency on one of central Arkansas’s key corridors.
