Upcoming lane closures on I-30 planned for next week due to construction work

Overnight I-30 ramp closure planned in Saline County due to road expansion

Little Rock, Arkansas – The week of November 20 will see significant lane closures on Interstate 30 (I-30) in Little Rock and North Little Rock due to ongoing construction work. Drivers planning to travel through these areas should be aware of the scheduled closures and make necessary adjustments to their routes.

The lane closures on I-30 are strategically planned to minimize disruptions during peak travel times, especially considering the Thanksgiving holiday. There will be no main lane closures from 5 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, to 8 p.m. Monday, November 27, to accommodate increased holiday traffic.

However, outside of these times, both daytime and overnight lane closures are scheduled. Daytime lane closures will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., while overnight closures will occur from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. In instances where double-lane closures are necessary, they will be limited to the hours between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. to reduce the impact on traffic flow.

Drivers should expect traffic to be controlled through construction barrels and signage. Caution is advised when traveling through these construction zones to ensure safety.

Detailed Lane Closure Information

  • Daytime Closures:
    • Single-lane closures on I-30 frontage roads between 6th and 10th streets in Little Rock.
    • Cypress Street in North Little Rock will have a single-lane closure southbound between 5th and Broadway streets.
    • Broadway Street will experience single-lane closures between Magnolia St. and Pine St. in North Little Rock.
    • Locust Street northbound will have a single-lane closure between Broadway and 5th streets in North Little Rock.
  • Overnight Closures:
    • I-30 will have single and double-lane closures and traffic shifts between Roosevelt Road in Little Rock and I-40 in North Little Rock.
    • Single and double-lane closures on I-30/I-40 lanes and ramps at the north terminal in North Little Rock.
    • Full closure of the southbound frontage road on-ramp to I-30 westbound in Little Rock near I-630, with detours signed.
    • Additional closures on Cypress Street, Broadway Street, and Locust Street as listed in daytime closures.
  • 24-hour Closures:
    • A full closure of Riverfront Drive westbound between Olive St. and Pine St. in North Little Rock; Riverfront eastbound will be converted to two-way traffic to accommodate this closure.

Travelers in the Little Rock and North Little Rock area are encouraged to plan their routes in advance and allow extra time for travel due to these lane closures. The careful planning of these closures reflects an effort to minimize inconvenience while ensuring the safety of drivers and construction workers.
