Pine Bluff High School teacher fired over biting incident

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – In a recent development at Pine Bluff High School, a teacher and coach faced dismissal following a controversial incident involving a student. The decision was made on Monday night after a public hearing was held to address allegations against the educator, Tramaine Brown.

During the school board meeting, Brown had the opportunity to defend himself against the accusations. He explained that the incident, which occurred in August, was a result of horseplay. When a board member inquired whether he directly bit the student, Brown clarified that he “playfully bit his jacket.”

Brown, who has been with the school district for 13 years and has a total of 18 years of experience in education, found his long tenure at the school coming to an abrupt end due to this incident. The decision to terminate his employment highlights the seriousness with which the school board is addressing matters of teacher conduct and student safety.
